I find the story below very instructive. Whatever you can do, Do!  -  To solve a problem; contribute to knowledge; focus on what you can contribute to others; meet the needs of others profitably  -  and you have a business that cannot fail. The following steps may help:
1. Build on your strengths; 2. mitigate the effects of your weaknesses by learning to avoid them;  3. go within as a prelude to taking on any task or commitment; 4. look around you so you realize the enormity of the problems confronting us as a people; 5. apply your strengths to provide solutions profitably in areas your talents can support. 6. Believe in YOU! You are the best creature that God has made to be YOU.
This way, your tasks simply become Fun, and you can make a living while you are contributing to making our world better.
Lest I forget, how much did Mr. Echeruo sell his map? Chai! Your guess is good as mine.
A TOAST TO YOUR GREATNESS!

5 Lessons You Can Learn from Entrepreneur Chinedu Echeruo, Founder of HopStop | Online City Transit Guide recently acquired by Apple

By BellaNaija.com
It’s one of the buzz tech stories of the week! Popular Online City Transit Guide/App HopStop has been snapped up by Apple. While technology giant Apple has confirmed the purchase, the company has declined to reveal any additional details including the transaction price.
One man who is smiling this week is HopStop Founder and Chairman – Nigerian Entrepreneur Chinedu Echeruo.
Chinedu has been on our BN radar for the past few years starting with a CNN feature after he launched HopStop in 2004. As we celebrate with Chinedu, we have come up with 5 lessons you can learn from this inspiring entrepreneur!
1.   Attempt to Fix a Problem
When Chinedu first moved to New York City in 1995, it was pretty difficult for him to navigate the busy city with ease. This “problem” sparked the creation of HopStop a few years later. It’s a national pasttime to list Nigeria’s problems, consider creating something to fix one of them! It could be your million dollar ticket.
2.   Evolve with Your Customers
Chinedu emphasized this as a key point in his recent interview with Black Enterprise online. Since it launched in 2004, HopStop has evolved as customers needs have changed. It’s comprehensive mobile application is one clear illustration of that.
3.   Focus on What is best for the Business, Not You
Chinedu stepped down as CEO of HopStop in 2009 to make way for someone who was better suited to lead the company towards its goals and objectives. As entrepreneurs, it is easy to keep clinging on to “power”, know when to step aside. Our “long-serving” African presidents can certainly learn from this example. In his own words, “

4.   Don’t be afraid to be a Serial Entrepreneur
Tripology.com is another company founded by Chinedu. Even if your last business was not successful, pick yourself up and try again.
5.   Do Not Underestimate the value of a Good Education & Experience
Granted we cannot all graduate from Harvard Business School or work for major investment banks. However, the value of a solid education and experience will only enhance your entrepreneurial pursuits. “Before his entrepreneurial career, Mr. Echeruo was with AM Investment Partners, a USD $500 million volatility-driven convertible bond arbitrage hedge fund. Prior to completing his M.B.A., he spent several years in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Leveraged Finance groups of J.P Morgan Chase where he was involved in a broad range of M&A, financing and private equity transactions. He holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and B.S in Finance and Accounting (Honors) from Syracuse University.” {Source – WSJ}
Today, Chinedu Echeruo is a Partner/Head, Principal Investing at Constant Capital in Ghana.

MESSAGE FROM THE UNIVERSE

If you are a young Nigerian, a university undergraduate or a graduate of less than 5 years, I bet that you are now accustomed to the feeling of hopelessness that is evident on faces of people such as you are. May be you even share that feeling of despondency and hopelessness too.

If you do, I cannot blame you with the realities confronting us in present-day Nigeria: joblessness, diseases, poverty, infant mortality due to inadequate public medicare; vision-less leadership and generally inadequate public planning towards the future. But is that all there is to YOU, should you despair and give up? NEVER... the universe has cut out your path for you... and it is waiting for you to take your place. NEVER GIVE UP!

Today, I bring a quote from the Universe to YOU and about YOU, here it is...

"If it's not yet obvious to you, the real reason for this season is YOU!
more perfect child of the Universe has never lived. You are life's prayer of Becoming, and its Answer.
The first light at the dawn of eternity, drawn from the ether, so that the Universe might know its depths, discover its heights, and frolic in endless seas of blessed emotion, a Pioneer and Adventurer into the unknown, and a Lifter of veils. Courageous, heroic and exalted by billions in the unseen.
To give beyond reason, To care beyond hope, To love without Limit, To reach, To stretch, and Dream,
in spite of your fears - these are the hallmarks of divinity, traits of the immortal, your Badges of Honor -
Wear them with a pride as great as the unspeakable pride we feel for You.
Your light will illuminate darkened paths, your gaze will lift broken spirits, and your Life will change
the Destiny of all who will ever follow. This Season ... we celebrate YOU, and bow before your Greatness!
                                                                                                       -  The Universe

The above quotation is from the Universe in Richard Carswell "Law of Attraction".

PS: At the darkest part of night, the dawn itches to break. No matter what your situation is. Sit down with yourself, quietly, go within, discover the seed of greatness that has been deposited in You by your Maker, Break ye forth from despondency and hopelessness...
The seed of Greatness, It's in YOU. Go, Go, Go!

To your Greatness!

SEVEN LAWS OF LIFETIME GROWTH

2.      Always make your contribution bigger than your reward.

5.      Always make your gratitude greater than your success.
6.      Always make your enjoyment greater than your effort.
7.      Always make your confidence greater than your comfort.

To your successful future!
